2016 BMW 340i xDrive Packs Personality

In the world of driver’s cars, the BMW 3-series is widely regarded as the best. Across the board, this impressive line of luxury sport sedans has received hundreds of awards worldwide. The 340i xDrive continues to push for more with premium performance upgrades and individual options unique to BMW.

All 3-series models have received a new front fascia, new front and rear lighting and a number of styling details. Now standard on the 340i are LED headlights and BMW’s adaptive lighting system, which is considered one of the most functional systems.

A 3.0-litre, six-cylinder engine is brand new to the 340i delivers more than just increased power output. The engine’s aluminum build is drawn from BMW’s EfficientDynamics technology. It delivers 320 horsepower at 5,500 RPM with 330 lb.-ft. of torque. Although these numbers are only a slight improvement from last year, the engine’s response time is significantly improved. 100 km/h can be reached in a mere 4.6 seconds.

For those who indulge in the xDrive all-wheel-drive model, prepare for a faster ride than the rear-wheel-drive version, surprisingly. This is due to BMW’s superior traction. In accordance with BMW tradition, six-speed manual transmission is available for both the all-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive versions of the 340i.
